The Portuguese students also gave a presentation.
After listening to the Japanese student’s presentation, they connected with each other by what they liked. There was also a moment when we were connected by what we like!
At the end of the session, we had a little Q&A time, and the hands went up!
In Japan, it seems that not many people raise their hands during these Q&A sessions.
But on this day, Japanese students were also actively raising their hands, and I was absorbed in this moment of connection that transcended national barriers.
I felt that they were absorbed in this moment of being connected beyond national barriers!
I was also pleased to see that some students who had planned to present in Japanese but wanted to present in English until just before the event said, “I want to present in English! Some of the students even took up the challenge of translating their presentations into English in a short time!
I think that through this day, both children and adults may be able to begin to overcome their own barriers!
